During this event, Rana Abuzir, the Program Development Manager at AHIMA, gave members an informative overview of health information, discussing the importance of accurate data, patient privacy, and clinical documentation among other topics. She touched on the AHIMA credentials available to those in this field, giving members an opportunity to envision what their academic journey and early career might look like if they choose to work in health information. Finally, Ms. Abuzir showed members an example of how coding can gather critical information for doctors and patients alike, allowing members to understand the wide-sweeping implications of the business side of health care.
