Successful Forums Since 2014

At our Forums, members come together to listen to keynote speakers in the fields of entrepreneurship, business, and finance. The goal of each is to inspire our community of high school leaders to launch their own world-changing initiatives, open their minds to new economic issues, engage in discussion, and forge deeper connections with like-minded peers.

 

Junior Economic club of Chicago 2021 Fall forum

On November 18th, 2021 Junior Economic Club of Chicago members attended our first in-person forum since winter 2020. Attendees were able to enhance their knowledge of economics, entrepreneurship, business, and finance, and had the opportunity to discuss these topics with our amazing speakers and panelists: Craig Slack, Chief Investment Officer for the City of Chicago, Joe Aguilar, Chief Investment Officer for the Illinois State Treasurer, Tere Regina, Financial Education Manager for Chicago Public Schools, Amy C. Shelly, Chief Financial Officer at Options Clearing Corporation and Bret Blanton, Director of Foreign Exchange Trading at BMO Capital Markets. Members also had the opportunity to ask our panelists questions in a moderated Q&A.

 

Junior Economic Club International 2020 Fall Forum

On September 26th, 2020, the Junior Economic Club held its first International Forum, a 3.5-hour virtual event. Over 225 students from 90 schools, 18 cities, and 4 countries gathered to network with like-minded students in the 29 breakout rooms and listen to keynote speakers in the fields of entrepreneurship, business, and economics.

 

Junior Economic Club of Chicago 2020 Winter Forum

On January 23rd, 2020, the Junior Economic Club held its Quarterly Forum at TechNexus connecting nearly 80 students from across Chicago. The forum featured two speakers: Dr. Diane Whitmore Schanzenbach, the director of the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University and Scott Stuart, the CEO of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), a global non-profit organization comprised of turnaround and corporate renewal professionals 55 chapters strong in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Pacific Rim. In between the two keynote speakers, members enjoyed dinner and interacting with the panel of professionals who work in real estate, the markets, entrepreneurship, and academia to explore the different sides of economics.
