Dr. Catherine L. Mann has been the Global Chief Economist at Citibank since February 2018. She is responsible for thought leadership, research guidance of a global team of economists, and cross-fertilization of research across macroeconomics, fixed-income, and equities.
In the webinar on August 20th, Dr. Mann gave JEC members an overview of the evolution of US Trade over the past few decades, and shared her analysis of contemporary issues with trade. She talked about the effects of the US - China trade war as they relate to GDP growth and trade with other countries, and also offered her insights on how COVID will effect both the US and trade specifically in the short term and long term. Following this, there was a discussion and moderated Q&A session.
