Shaping and inspiring Chicago’s Future leaders
The Junior Economic Club is an entirely student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit that firmly believes that given the right guidance and support, high school students are capable of addressing the issues facing our society.
The Club brings together bright and ambitious high school students in an exceptional community of discussion, exposure, and leadership. We invest in Chicago's future by allowing students to understand and solve real-world economic problems in the public and private sectors. In doing so, we nurture a more effective, experienced, and responsible generation of leaders.
Our Story
The Club was founded in 2014 by Sam Lurye and Samir Hadzic, students at Lincoln Park High School, and a group of like-minded high school students.
Since its inception, the Club has hosted over one hundred events, been led by seven different presidents, and spread to over a dozen cities, providing incredible opportunities to hundreds of students across Chicago and the world.
Members have forged life-long friendships, heard from the nation’s top business executives, and discovered new interests.
